Bog Oak is one of the oldest and most historic timbers in Ireland, formed when oak trees were buried in peat bogs thousands of years ago. The anaerobic conditions of the bog preserve the wood, slowly darkening it to a rich, deep tone while retaining its natural character. The Bog Oak used in these pendants was found buried one metre below the surface in a raised bog outside Killarney, Ireland.

After two years of careful drying, traditional hand-tool techniques are used to add texture and shape, bringing out the wood’s unique grain and natural beauty. Each pendant is then soaked in mineral oil for 48 hours and buffed to a satin finish with organic beeswax, highlighting its warm, historic tones.

Choose a sterling silver bail or knot-style setting, paired with a black leather cord and a sterling silver lobster claw clasp. Each pendant is presented in an eco-friendly hessian bag and includes a care kit of mineral oil and beeswax, helping to preserve the Bog Oak’s natural beauty and history for generations.

Each pendant is approximately between 50-55mm length, 20mm width and between 5-8mm depth.
