Killarney Bog Oak Fountain Pen with Upgrade Gold Fittings

This pen is crafted from ancient Irish Bog Oak, estimated to be over 5,000 years old and unearthed just 100 meters from my home. Preserved for millennia in Ireland’s peat bogs, this rare timber has been carbon dated by Queen’s University, Belfast, to be between 3,500 and 7,000 years old, offering a tangible connection to Ireland’s prehistoric landscape.

Writing with this pen is more than just putting ink to paper; it’s holding a piece of history in your hand, each stroke echoing the legacy of a bygone era.

Each fountain pen is fitted as standard with a Beaufort size 5 screw-in nib, meaning it can be easily swapped to suit your writing style. The size 5 nib delivers a smooth, consistent ink flow with excellent line control, making it a pleasure to write with whether you are dashing off a quick note or settling in for longer correspondence. Each pen comes supplied with both a cartridge and a converter, giving you the freedom to use your favourite bottled ink.
